Despite delaying today’s scheduled Nintendo Direct, it seems Nintendo has accidentally leaked the name of the previously untitled Yoshi game coming to Nintendo Switch in 2019. Twitter user @TheOgEVG was able to grab screencaps of the title briefly being listed as “Yoshi’s Crafted World.”
The listing has since been corrected, but several other Twitter users and members of various gaming forums were also able to publish their own screenshots before Nintendo made changes to the page. This has led many to speculate that revealing the Switch game’s finalized title would have been a part of today’s planned Nintendo Direct.
Nintendo made the decision to postpone the Direct after news broke that an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7, hit approximately 68km south of Sapporo – Japan’s fifth most populated city. This, coming just days after Japan was hit by it’s strongest typhoon in 25 years which infamously blew the “N” off Nintendo’s Kyoto-based headquarters.
Yoshi’s Crafted World was originally revealed as “Yoshi” at E3 2017 and has remained under that working title ever since. Back in June of 2018, Nintendo confirmed that Yoshi’s first Switch adventure had been delayed until 2019 after the game was suspiciously absent from the company’s E3 showing.
