Luigi’s Mansion, Link’s Awakening, Pokémon, and more to be playable at E3

Get hands on with some of the most anticipated titles of 2019!
Nintendo E3 2019 Playable Switch Games

If you’re heading to E3 next week then be prepared to spend a lot of time at the Nintendo booth. As Nintendo has finally revealed which of their upcoming Nintendo Switch titles will be playable on the show floor.

Demos confirmed to be on display include Pokémon Sword and Shield, Luigi’s Mansion 3, and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. Fans can also look forward to getting their hands on Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order and “many more” other games that are yet to be disclosed.

With the hottest new games on the show floor, Nintendo is also offering fans the opportunity to beat the queues with a “Warp Pipe Pass”. Available from June 6th at 5pm PT, the Warp Pipe Pass will allow you to book a time slot for Pokémon Sword / Shield or Luigi’s Mansion 3 and ensure you get some hands-on time. All you need is a Nintendo Account and valid E3 2019 badge to nab one of these handy passes, so be sure to check Nintendo’s E3 FAQ page if you need more details.

Unfortunately, Nintendo’s Warp Pipe Pass will only be applicable to some of the titles on display. Although Link’s Awakening and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 have both been announced as playable, they have not been added to the Warp Pipe Pass scheme.

Interestingly, the playable line-up also seems to confirm the title “Luigi’s Mansion 3” which was previously listed by Nintendo as a “working title”. Animal Crossing fans might be disappointed though, with the upcoming title seemingly being the biggest omission from E3’s playable demos. We’ll have to keep our fingers crossed that Tom Nook makes an appearance in Tuesday’s Nintendo Direct.
