E3 is right around the corner, and as per tradition, GameStop has added 21 new Nintendo Switch SKUs into their system. These placeholders likely hint towards new titles that will be unveiled next week at E3 either during Nintendo’s Direct, the Treehouse, or during a third-party press conference.
Gamestop’s new Switch SKUs give fans a mere morsel of information to speculate over in the long (at least it feel like it) wait for E3 2019. Of course, the titles of these potential 21 games have not been revealed and placeholder dates are heavily in use, but information such as prices does appear to be visible and one title even appears to have a date.
With the exception of one game, everything is listed under a December 31st, 2019 release. It’s important to keep in mind that this date is only a release window and is indicative that these games may release anytime between now and the last day of the year. It’s also very possible that Gamestop does not know any release dates for these 20 games, and that some of these could potentially be 2020 games or beyond.
However, one upcoming Nintendo Switch title does come with a specific launch date. The unknown SKU has been slapped with a $39.99 price tag and, according to GameStop, is set to release on October 18th 2019.
Besides the mystery $39.99 title, a majority of the games listed are priced at the standard $59.99. The exceptions include one game priced at $49.99, one game at $89.99 and one final SKU priced at a sky-scraping $199.99. It is no leap in logic to believe that the higher-priced games are special editions, with the latter title possibly including an actual 20-carat Joy-Con (one can dream).
Fortunately, we won’t have to wait very long to find out what these games could be, as Nintendo’s E3 Direct is just around the corner. The upcoming Nintendo Direct will be held on June 11th at 9am PT (12pm ET / 5pm BST / 6pm CEST), so we can hopefully catch a glimpse at some of these titles then.
