After a successful Kickstarter campaign, turn-based strategy game Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics is coming to Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PC in 2018.
Though no solid release date has been set, publisher Ripstone Games and developer Auroch Digital have released the first look at Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics’s gameplay in a video narrated by the game’s Design Director Tomas Rawlings. The video takes players through the first mission of the game and explores mechanics, moment to moment gameplay and background lore from the world of Achtung! Cthulhu.
Based on the award-winning tabletop game Achtung! Cthulhu by Modiphius Entertainment, Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics is set during an alternate history version of WWII. In this timeline, the Nazi Party’s interest in the occult resulted in unlocking the power to summon Lovecraftian monsters to fight alongside them and destroy the Allies.
Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics mixes turn-based strategy and RPG mechanics in a story that will take players all around the world to combat the rising tide of evil. Players are responsible for leading the Charlie Company, an elite allied task force charged with disrupting the Nazi’s plans. Each of Charlie Company’s four hero characters has a unique backstory, weapons and combat abilities.
