Sheltered launches on Nintendo Switch today

From today the apocalypse will be portable.
Sheltered

You’ll be able to take the apocalypse with you wherever you go from today, December 18th, when Sheltered becomes available for download from the Nintendo Switch eShop. The post-apocalyptic disaster management game will be priced at £9.99 / $14.99 / €14.99, with a 20% discount available during launch week.

Sheltered puts you in charge of a family of four that find themselves living alone in a remote underground bunker following a global apocalypse. Your job is to keep them alive at all costs, so be prepared to help them battle claustrophobia, mental exhaustion and radiation poisoning. There might be some feral beasts to deal with too!

Unfortunately, your shelter isn’t as equipped as it could be, so some trips out into the wilderness will be necessary. You’ll have to scavenge supplies, being careful to avoid roaming factions and general post-apocalyptic horrors, to make sure your family survives another day. Where you can’t avoid your enemies, you can engage in turn-based combat as a last resort.

You’ll also have the chance to recruit other friendly survivors into your shelter, by gaining their trust you might just make an invaluable ally in your survival. You can craft items, find pets, and even discover vehicles to make your excursions into the wasteland that little bit less dangerous. Your family are fully customisable; you decide their genders, names and appearances. On top of this, everything your family goes through will develop their stats in different ways, giving you the opportunity to forge a truly unique family.

So how long do you think you can make your family survive? You can find out, when Sheltered, developed by Unicube and published by Team17, releases on December 18th.
