For the King, the strategic RPG from Curve Digital and Ironoak Games will officially be coming to Nintendo Switch on May 9th 2019. Priced at £29.99 / $34.99 / €34.99, the game will be available digitally from the eShop and as a physical retail release. Players who purchase the game digitally during launch will be eligible for a 20% launch discount.
Described as a “strategic RPG that blends tabletop and roguelike elements”, For the King is a procedurally generated adventure that promises a unique experience every game. Set in a world where an unknown assailant has taken the life of the King, players must set off on a journey in which no-one has ever returned.
For the King’s Nintendo Switch release will include all previously released expansions from the PC version, including – Dungeon Crawl, Hildebrant’s Celler, Gold Rush, Frozen Expanse and Into the Deep. In addition to offering a single-player experience, players will also be able to buddy up in local co-op or take their adventure online with co-operative online multiplayer.
Curve Digital has also teamed up with Merge Games to offers fans a special “Signature Edition” of the game. Priced at £39.99 / $49.99 / €49.99 and releasing on the slightly later date of May 24th, the Signature Edition of For the King is set to include:
- A physical copy of the game,
- a For the King soundtrack CD,
- a numbered Adventurer’s Certificate,
- a Pocket Guide to Beasts of Fahrul,
- a shield key-ring,
- and two enamel pins.
