Railway Empire - Nintendo Switch™ Edition

Kalypso Media has revealed that the popular railway simulation game “Railway Empire” will be hitting Nintendo Switch on March 27th 2020. Originally released in January 2018 for Windows, PS4 and Xbox One, Railway Empire – Nintendo Switch Edition sees the game’s first venture into on-the-go play. The game, developed by Independent Arts Software, is set to release with both physical and digital editions and is priced at $39.99 / £35.99 / €39,99.

Railway Empire sees players creating elaborate rail networks by purchasing from a choice of over 40 historically accurate train models, overseeing an extensive workforce and building stations, factories and tourist attractions to keep ahead of your three rival tycoons. The competition is fierce and the game allows players to resort to raids and industrial espionage to come out on top. Railway Empire also features over 300 unique technologies available in each of the five playable eras of important locomotive history.

The 20-hour base game campaign has players exploiting the economic opportunities the United States has to offer by building a rail network spanning the country coast-to-coast, while other game modes include more challenging preset scenarios and a sandbox mode where money is no limitation on the expansion of your network. For the first time, the Nintendo Switch Edition includes the Mexico, Crossing the Andes and The Great Lakes DLC packs with purchase of the base game, allowing players to explore and cover many exciting environments with their rail network. Further DLC packs (Germany, France and Great Britain & Ireland) will also be available as additional purchases from the Nintendo eShop at launch, although the price of these is yet to be revealed.

With the expansive base game, bundled DLC packs and additional packs available for purchase, players of the game on Nintendo Switch will have plenty of content to dig into when it releases on March 27th 2020.
