Step aside Nintendo Directs, there's a new update in town.
Nintendo Switch Firmware 7.0.1 System Update

Just as we thought the Nintendo Switch couldn’t get any more stable, Nintendo astonishes us all with yet another minor system update.

Rolled out on February 18th 2019, the 7.0.1 Switch firmware release not only sets out to fix a small connectivity bug in Pokémon: Let’s Go but also enhances the console’s stability to a level so unsubstantiated that it’d give a concrete Snorlax a run for its money.

Prior to the recent update, some users were experiencing an issue where both Pokémon: Let’s Go titles wouldn’t always pair with the Pokémon GO mobile app. An issue which Nintendo was pleased to mark as resolved in the recent firmware changelog.

Resolved an issue where the Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! games cannot reconnect to the Pokémon GO app if the game software was closed after pairing with the app.

In addition to tackling the Pokémon connectivity issue, 7.0.1 also boasts a multitude of unspecified stability updates and enhancements to the overall user experience. So if you’ve been holding off buying a Nintendo Switch, there’s never been a better time to jump in and experience the general stability of this amazing hybrid console for yourself.

If you can’t wait to get your hand on firmware 7.0.1, then head on over to your System Settings and grab the update from the System sub-menu by scrolling down and hitting “A” a bunch of times.
