Mario Kart Tour is getting a closed beta and you can sign up today

There are a few requirements though…
Mario Kart Tour - Coming in Summer 2019

Get ready to start your (mobile) engines! Nintendo has announced a Closed Beta Test for their upcoming mobile game, Mario Kart Tour.

A shiny new website has popped up where prospective players can sign-up to be in with a chance to test the game ahead of its launch this Summer. Applications are open now and close on May 7th. Nintendo plans to run the testing period from May 22nd until June 4th and will be in touch with applicants by May 19th via the email address assigned to their Nintendo account.

There’s also some criteria you’ll need to meet in order to take part in the closed beta. Most importantly, you’ll need an Android phone and live in either the USA or Japan. The beta will be distributed via the Google Play Store and to participate in the test the Gmail address used for Google Play must match the one used for your Nintendo Account.

The full device requirements for the closed beta are as follows:

Smart devices with Android 4.4 or later and 1.5 GB or more of RAM.
Notes:
Even if a device satisfies the above requirements, depending on the specific device and settings, the game may not run as expected.
The Android Q is not supported.
Android tablets are not supported.
The above specs are the minimum requirements for the closed beta test, and may not be the same as the minimum requirements for the official release.

Aside from where you live and what phone you have, testers must also be over 18 to participate in the test.

Nintendo has also stipulated that no screenshots of the game are to be shared online during the test and doing so may result in your suspension from the beta. Any progress made in this pre-release won’t be transferred over to the stable version of the game either, and in-app purchases are disabled during the testing phase.

If you meet all the criteria and are keen to participate in the test of the somewhat mysterious mobile game, be sure to head over to the official Mario Kart Tour site before applications close on May 7th, 2019.
