THQ Nordic have announced that de Blob 2 will be getting a physical and digital release for Nintendo Switch on August 28th 2018. The remastered game is set to come with a $29.99 (USD) / €29.99 (EUR) price tag.

de Blob 2 is, unsurprisingly, a sequel to the original de Blob game. The story is set a few years after the events of the first title and the gameplay follows a similar vein. It’s a unique puzzle platformer, where players take on the role of “Blob” (that’s the guy in the image above) and bounce around restoring colour to the surrounding city.

Compared to the first game, de Blob 2 features new mechanics (such as the ability to dash attack) and offers 12 new single-player levels to explore. You can also grab a friend and team up in split screen coop mode.

Originally released for consoles in 2017, de Blob 2 was remastered 5 years later with the enhanced version landing on PC in 2017. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One ports followed a few months later. Although THQ Nordic haven’t confirmed specifics of the upcoming Switch port, based on other platforms, Switch players can expect some decent enhancements over the original.

The release of de Blob 2 marks THQ Nordic’s seventh title published for Nintendo Switch, with titles like This is the Police 2 still in the pipeline.
