Exact revenge on the man who caused Armageddon.

Black Future ’88, a sci-fi dystopian roguelike, is arriving on Nintendo Switch and Windows PC later this year. The game will be published by Good Shepherd Entertainment and is developed by SuperScarySnakes which is described as a “mostly one-man studio.”

Set in a world that is perpetually 1988, Black Future ’88 places you as one of the sole survivors of a nuclear apocalypse. When your only choice is to exact revenge on the person that doomed the world, you will fight your way through a relentless barrage of bullets, lasers, and your own heart before it’s rigged to explode. The only people that can stop you are the robots and murderous guards secured inside a procedurally-generated tower protecting their boss in the penthouse suite. With over 50 weapons at your disposal (and a high-octane synth-punk soundtrack to jam to), your enemies won’t stand a chance against your retribution.

If you’re tired of playing alone, you can always tag in a friend for local co-op and enjoy the fast-paced, aesthetically retro gameplay together. And at the end of a long day’s work, when all the robots and cutthroats are gone, clear out daily challenges to climb the ranks of the global leaderboard.

Black Future ’88 releases on the Nintendo Switch as a console exclusive and on Windows PC later in 2019.
