Nintendo Reveals Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Edition Pro Controller

The Ultimate (Non-Gamecube) Smash Controller.

Nintendo has revealed a new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Pro Controller similar to existing themed controllers from the Splatoon and Xenoblade franchises. The new controller will be available on its own or as a part of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s “Special Edition” this December.

The controller is currently listed as unavailable for pre-order on Nintendo’s website, with would-be customers being asked to “Check back for retailers.” However, as of the writing of this article, the controller and bundle have started appearing on the North Amercian version of retailers like Best Buy for $74.99 and $139.99 respectively. It’s worth noting that these listing don’t yet have the official images from Nintendo, so it’s possible that these are just a placeholder.

If a Gamecube controller is more your style then Nintendo has you covered with a Smash branded Gamecube controller and adapter already available for pre-order for $29.99 / £29.99 / €29,99 and $19.99 / £19.99 / €19,99 respectively.

Even if you’re planning on using a Gamecube controller when Smash drops later this year, the controller sports a sleek design fans of the series should appreciate. The unit includes the standard transparent black casing, coupled with custom solid white handles and a white Smash logo emblazoned across the controller’s right side.

Those who order Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s Special Edition also have a steelbook case to look forward to when the game releases on Nintendo Switch December 7th, 2018.
