Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions, a trading card game based on the Warhammer franchise, is heading to Nintendo Switch on April 16th 2019. The free-to-play game will be available with cross-play functionality between the Steam and mobile versions.

Developer PlayFusion, along with Publisher Games Workshop, will be bringing this trading-card game-with-a-twist to consoles for the very first time. In addition to using the digital cards included in the game, players who own compatible physical cards will also be able to scan and use them on the Nintendo Switch. This feature, unique to Age of Sigmar: Champions, offers a unique entry point into the TCG genre, ensuring that anyone can play the game at no extra cost.

Alongside the release, fresh content will be available to tackle in the form of Realm Trials and Arena of Echoes. Realm Trials is a new single-player campaign with dozens of hours of promised content to keep you busy. Arena of Trials, on the other hand, is a unique challenge that has players picking cards from a random selection and winning multiple fights in a row to redeem a prize. Besides these two modes, the game already offers a varied helping of content – including Casual and Ranked modes, leaderboards that refresh at the beginning of each season, and challenges to best.
