Developers Drakkar Dev and publisher Blowfish Studios have announced that War Tech Fighters will see an April release on Nintendo Switch and other consoles. Although the console price is not yet known, the Steam version is priced at $19.99/£15.49.

In War Tech Fighters, you play as a pilot who, as a result of a calamitous war, has lost their home planet to the Zatros empire. Equipped in an upgrade-able mech known as War Tech, players fly through space engaging in intense first-person or third-person combat. There’s more to the mission-based gameplay than fighting ships and other War Tech though, as players can find themselves in a multitude of scenarios from stealth missions to environmental puzzle solving.

One of War Tech Fighters flagship features is its goal to give you a fully customisable experience. There are three types of War Tech to choose from: the light and agile Hawk, the all-around balanced Lynx, and the heavy-hitting Rhino. The game touts thousands of combinations of War Tech parts, weapons, and colours, and levelling up will grant you the ability to upgrade your attack or defence stats.

Exclusive to the console version, pilots can expect to receive the new Archangel War Tech set which includes the Glory Sword, Redemption Halberd, and Faith Shield. These items will be available at the beginning of the game in case you were looking for a one-up on the Zatros empire.

Battle your way through the game’s 33 missions when War Tech Fighters launches on Nintendo Switch in April.
