Visit The Midnight Sanctuary on Nintendo Switch this October

You can journey to the remote Japanese village on October 4th
The Midnight Sanctuary

Supernatural 3D narrative The Midnight Sanctuary is coming to Nintendo Switch on October 4th, priced at $9.99/€9.99. The game will also release on Playstation 4 and Steam on the same date, with VR support coming to both platforms sometime afterwards.

From developer CAVYHOUSE, The Midnight Sanctuary is described as an occult suspense 3D novel, featuring Japanese text and audio with English text localisation supported. The game takes place in Daisu, an isolated Japanese village in which the inhabitants were persecuted for their religious beliefs. Wishing to reconnect with the outside world and become a become a modern tourist destination, they have built a cathedral to their revered deity, known as ‘The Saint’, who once saved the village long ago.

You play as a famous historian, Hamomuro Tachibana, invited to the village to catalogue its past and form a bridge between the locals and the outside world. And that’s when the strange occurrences start. Residents start disappearing, leaping off cliffs, twisting themselves in half. Enough to make you start wondering if perhaps ‘The Saint’ has returned to the village, but not as a benevolent saviour. You’ll have to investigate to find out.

In The Midnight Sanctuary, the lines between reality and surreal are blurred in terms of both storytelling and visual style. 2D textures and moving 3D models are blended, and the whole game is presented in a style reminiscent of a stained glass window, creating an incredibly unique visual style. You’ll be able to experience it yourself on Switch on October 4th.
