Ubisoft’s Sports Party appears to be heading to Switch in November.

A rework of the Wii classic seems to be coming to Nintendo Switch.

Ubisoft’s Sports Party is almost certainly heading to Nintendo Switch. According to multiple Japanese retail listings, the game appears to be set for November 15th 2018 release.

Sports Party on Nintendo Switch seems to be a revival of the 2008 Sports Party title released on Nintendo Wii. According to Amazon Japan, the six sports included in the pack are golf, beach tennis, basketball, skateboarding, frisbee and jet skiing. These differ from the games included in the Wii version, suggesting this is a re-imagination of the game rather than a direct port.

Just like the Wii original, Sports Party on the Switch seems to rely heavily on motion controls but retailer information implies that more traditional controls will also be available. It’s also suggested that players will be able to customise the characters and play with up to three of their friends in 4-player local co-op.

While no official announcement has been made yet, the game did see classification from the Australian board back in August. It’s fairly likely that this was another game lined up to feature in Nintendo’s delayed September Direct, so expect to head more about Ubisoft’s latest sports title relatively soon.
