News of a new partnership between The Pokémon Company and mobile game powerhouse, DeNA has become apparent, and it seems the two Japanese companies are cooking up something fresh for Pokémon fans.

The partnership was revealed in DeNA’s financial Operating Results for FY2018 and teases that more details about the game including its release date will be announced further down the line. We do know however that the game will be coming “this financial year”, which for DeNA concludes in April 2020 so expect to see more before about the mystery title before then.

DeNA has of course partnered with Nintendo on a multitude of mobile games already. Their relationship kicked off with Miitomo back in 2016 and they have since gone on to create Super Mario Run, Fire Emblem Heroes, and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. DeNA is also the developer behind the upcoming mobile Mario Kart Tour game that is going into closed beta this month.

We’ll have to wait and see what The Pokémon Company and DeNA have up their sleeves for fans later this year. With a solid line of Nintendo mobile titles in their portfolio already, it’s certainly exciting to see what DeNA comes up with for one of the most beloved franchises of all-time.
