Nintendo has unveiled the previously datamined VR Mode for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Officially launching as part of the Version 3.1.0 update, the new virtual reality mode is available now for players to download for absolutely free!

Once players have downloaded the latest version update for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the new mode becomes accessible via the “Games & More” menu. In VR mode, players can use their Nintendo Labo VR Kit to enjoy the game’s action through different perspectives in single-player, offline and timed battles.

In addition to the VR Mode, Version 3.1.0 also now allows players to send their amiibo figures on a journey across the Internet to battle it out with other players’ amiibo figures! You can even test your amiibo’s skills in Battle Arenas as well!

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the latest of many games to support Nintendo Labo. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe supports the Labo Vehicle Kit, and Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild both have their own VR support utilising the Labo VR Headset. All of these games have a unique take on their respective implementation of the functionality, containing unique modes and different ways to play.
