SteamWorld Quest is getting a limited physical Switch release by Super Rare

Just 7,000 copies available, pre-orders start on November 7th!

Image & Form Games’ SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech is receiving a physical release on Nintendo Switch. Limited to just 7,000 copies, the turn-based RPG is the 23rd game published by Super Rare Games and will be available to pre-order next week (on November 7th, 2019) for £29.99.

SteamWorld Quest’s physical edition includes a 20 page full colour manual, interior artwork, exclusive sticker, as well as three randomly chosen trading cards from the five available. Additional trading card booster packs will also be available to purchase separately for those looking to complete the set.

The partnership between Super Rare Games and Image & Form was penned in a rather unconventional way. Super Rare’s “Head of Doing Stuff”, George Perkins met Image & Form’s CEO Brjann Sigurgeirsson over a game of chess.

We had just released the Mutant Mudds Collection with Jools Watsham and we were on a call catching up. During the call I mentioned that I had been playing a lot of chess recently, to which Jools mentioned that Brjann was the man to beat. From there I added him as a friend on an online chess website and the rest is history.

Despite losing to Brjann Sigurgeirsson “very, very badly”, George was still able to sign the deal with Image & Form, no doubt in part thanks to Sigurgeirsson’s love for physical games.

Physical games are the bomb! It’s one of the reasons why I love (and remain undefeated at) chess. So naturally, I’m excited to work with Super Rare on SteamWorld Quest and beyond. SteamWorld fans have been asking us for months for a physical Quest release and finally, we can lift the veil off this amazing edition of our darling RPG

SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech will be available to pre-order for £29.99 exclusively at superraregames.com on November 7th, 2019.
