Stardew Valley’s multiplayer update enters QA for Nintendo Switch

Immerse yourself in your new life, now with friends!
Stardew Valley Multiplayer Update Nintendo Switch

Stardew Valley creator ConcernedApe has announced that development for the games highly anticipated multiplayer mode on Nintendo Switch is now finished. The update has entered quality assurance, where it will be tested for bugs/crashes before release.

Multiplayer mode was announced last year and released on PC in August. It allows you to play the full game with up to 4 friends, sharing your farm and money between players. The update also allows each player to have their own relationships with the game’s townspeople. Players can still choose to pursue a romantic relationship/marriage with any NPC they take a liking to, but the option to marry other players and eventually have (or adopt) children will now be available.

Whilst the new mode is sure to be the star of the update, fret not single player fans as the update will also contain new content for those who still want to get lost in the game by themselves. The additional content includes new in-game events, NPC encounters, monsters, upgrades and new items. The new items include an auto-grabber (for harvesting cow, sheep and goat products), signs for writing and leaving notes, pots for growing crops indoors and multiple decorative items for placing around your house and farm.

Whilst the update being in QA is a good sign that it is feature complete, it does not necessarily mean it will be coming out that soon. ConcernedApe has said that he will let fans know when more concrete release information will be available on his Twitter.
