PlatinumGames have announced that they plan to bring a remastered version of their superhero action title “The Wonderful 101” to Nintendo Switch, Steam, and PlayStation 4 via Kickstarter.
The announcement comes after PlatinumGames updated their website with a page titled “Platinum 4“. After the reveal of The Wonderful 101: Remastered, the first of four slots were populated on the website with the Kickstarter campaign, suggesting that three additional announcements are also on their way.
Originally released on the Nintendo Wii U in 2013, “The Wonderful 101” is a single-player action-adventure where the players take control of a group of superheroes in an effort to save Earth from an alien organisation. The game is played from an isometric view and utilises the horde of heroes to form special morph powers – in which the entire horde is transformed into a powerful attacked.
The stretch goals for The Wonderful 101: Remastered were listed at $50K for a Nintendo Switch port, $250K for a Steam port, and $500K for a PlayStation 4 port. All port stretch goals have been reached, with additional stretch goals also being introduced for new modes via DLC.
Physical and digital copies of “The Wonderful 101: Remastered” are slated to ship in April 2020 and include an exclusive cover for those backing the project on Kickstarter. The campaign’s numerous backer levels also pack plenty of additional rewards, including an art book, physical soundtrack, t-shirt, sticker set, comic book, and more – all pegged to release in November 2020.
