Nintendo Switch Online adding 20 Super Nintendo titles tomorrow (9/5)

Nintendo Switch Online just got a whole lot sweeter! Nintendo’s latest Direct just wrapped up and brought with it the exciting news that Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can look forward to Super Nintendo games joining the NSO library.

If that news wasn’t exciting enough on it’s own, how do 20 SNES games at launch sound? The likes of Super Mario World, Super Metroid, Stunt Racer FX, and many more will be available when SNES games arrive for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers tomorrow, September 5th. The games will also feature the rewind feature and similar online capabilites to their NES counterparts. Check out the full list:

  • Super Mario World
  • Super Mario Kart
  • The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
  • Super Metroid
  • Stunt Race FX (Available for the first time since its original Super NES release)
  • Kirby’s Dream Land 3
  • Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island
  • Star Fox
  • F-ZERO
  • Pilotwings
  • Kirby’s Dream Course
  • Breath of Fire
  • Demon’s Crest
  • Joe & Mac 2: Lost in the Tropics
  • Super Ghouls ’n Ghosts
  • Super Puyo Puyo 2 (Available for the first time in the U.S.)
  • Super Soccer (Available for the first time since its original Super NES release)
  • Super Tennis (Available for the first time since its original Super NES release)

Players can also get the real-deal-feel when playing these classics, because Nintendo is offering a Super Nintendo controller specifically available for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, priced at $29.99 USD. The controller isn’t available yet, but once it goes on sale players will be able to order up to four controllers per Nintendo Account.

Nintendo UK has also shown off their own version of the controller sporting the colourful ABXY buttons. The new retro-styled controller will charge via USB-Type C, the same as the Switch itself and the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.
