Mario Kart 8 Deluxe leads Nintendo’s best selling Switch games

13 titles have each sold well over 1 million copies worldwide in 2018.

As part of its earnings report posted today, Nintendo outlined it’s “million-seller” games. The company now boasts 13 titles (14 if you count Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Eevee! separately) that have sold over a million copies during the 2018 financial year – up from 6 in the previous quarter.

Despite Super Smash Bros. Ultimate valiant effort, it wasn’t able to nab the crown from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as the best selling Switch game of all-time. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe remains king (at least for the time being), having sold over 15 million copies since its release in April 2017.

Super Mario Odyssey was a close second place at 13.76 million total sales, with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate taking third place. The full list of Nintendo’s best selling first-party Switch games are included below:

Alongside the Switch sales numbers, Nintendo also reported that Mario Kart 7 for the 3DS sold 1.07 million copies last year, taking its total global count to 18.11 million. New 3DS releases such as Luigi’s Mansion and WarioWare Gold failed to sell over a million copies between April and December 2018.

All figures reported include both physical and digital sales, as well as any games included in a bundle.
