Starting off today’s jam-packed Nindies Showcase (Summer 2018) was Hyper Light Drifter – Special Edition. The Nintendo Switch version of the pixel-perfect RPG heads to the Nintendo eShop on September 6th 2018 and is available for pre-purchase today.
Following an extremely successful Kickstarter campaign, Hyper Light Drifter was initially released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One in 2016. The Special Edition of the game on Nintendo Switch will include all-new weapons like the deadly Blade Caster and Crystal Shot to freeze your foe. Switch players will also get access to an exclusive outfit to help players discover hidden items, and developer Abylight promises a smooth 60fps experience both handheld and docked.
Hyper Light Drifter is a 2D, action/adventure RPG that freshens up the formula from 16-bit classics like A Link to the Past with modernised mechanics and a unique visual style. In the game, players take on the role of the Drifter and fight against monsters in beautiful pixel environments.
Throughout the game, players will need to uncover additional modules and acquire power from batteries throughout the world. These modules will unlock new weapons and abilities that may prove crucial in battle.
Hyper Light Drifter – Special Edition comes to the Nintendo Switch as a digital download next week on September 6th and is available to pre-order from today.
