Your vision quest begins on April 11th!
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice

A release date has been given for the debut of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice on the Nintendo Switch, and it’s coming really soon! You’ll be able to get your hands on the port from April 11th, when it launches exclusively on the Nintendo eShop, priced at £24.99 /€29.99 / $29.99.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice was originally released on the PlayStation 4 and PC in 2017, before being made available on Xbox One the following year. A Nintendo Switch port was announced in February’s Nintendo Direct, albeit without a release date at the time. The port has been noted as not containing any new material, but it will support motion controls upon its debut on Switch.

Developed in partnership with neuroscientists, Hellblade has received praise for its depiction of psychosis. The game sees the Viking protagonist, Senua, go on a vision quest through Hell in order to fight for the soul of her dead lover.

The game, developed by UK studio Ninja Theory, was warmly received upon its original release and has gone on to win several awards. Interestingly, Ninja Theory is currently owned by Microsoft under their Xbox Game Studios banner, so this title marks another exciting partnership between Microsoft and Nintendo, alongside their shared efforts to bring Cuphead to the Switch on April 18th.
