Hand drawn sandbox racer ‘Fromto’ speeds onto Nintendo Switch in 2019

This 'horrible' game checks into the pit stop in Q2.
Fromto on Nintendo Switch

Publisher Headup Games has announced that the 2D sandbox racing game, Fromto will be making its debut on Nintendo Switch and PC in Q2 of 2019.

Fromto is the first game from Dutch developer, Studio Erikson and bundles racing with track building together for some unique (and wacky) gameplay. Designed from the get-go as a multiplayer game, Fromto supports 4 players both locally and online. Racers take it in turns to zoom around an unfinished track. Once everyone has failed to reach the finish line, ‘work together’ to flesh the track out. However, with a multitude of parts, traps and obstacles at your disposal, you’ll need to plan your strategy and take down your friends.

There are also a bunch of single-player, speed racing levels included with Fromto. Once you’ve alienated all your friends in multiplayer mode, you can race for the best score against players from around the world on more than 25 tracks.

Fromto’s ‘doodled’ style

The concept of Fromto blossomed from a drawing developer Erikson created when he was 10 years old. In the drawing, you navigate a race car through a wild and impossible obstacle course. It’s clear that visually, this doodled style carried through into the game Erikson created some 30 years later. To keep the authentic feel and essence of the idea intact, Erikson employed the help of his two children, Niki and Joep who each contributed their own drawings to the game.

Be on the lookout for Fromto when it comes to Nintendo Switch and PC in Q2 of 2019.
