Annapurna Interactive has announced that Gone Home, the award-winning exploration game, is coming to Nintendo Switch on August 23rd 2018. The announcement was made in celebration of the game’s fifth anniversary.

Originally launching on August 15th 2013, Gone Home is first-person exploration game developed by The Fullbright Company. Players take on the role of a 21-year-old woman named Katie, who has just spend a year overseas. Upon returning home, Katie finds her family home desolate, with no family members there to greet her. She must now find out exactly what has happened.

Gone Home is purely a story-driven exploration game. It intentionally avoids all combat mechanics and puzzles, in favour of allowing the player to explore the house at their own pace. The original PC release scored very favourably with most critics and has a “Mostly Positive” overall score on Steam.

According to an interview with Variety, Gone Home will be priced at $14.99 in North America. It will be available digitally through the Nintendo eShop and iam8bit are currently working on both a physical release and vinyl soundtrack.
