Brawlhalla, the free-to-play 2D brawler, will be getting a Nintendo Switch release on November 6th 2018. The announcement, which was made by Ubisoft (developer Blue Mammoth Games’ parent company), came with a brand new GamesCom trailer and the additional news of an Xbox One release.

Featuring over 40 different characters (known as “Legends” in-game) and more than 15 million players across the PS4 and Steam versions, Brawlhalla will definitely be a solid addition to the Nintendo Switch library. Each Legend comes with their own unique abilities, movesets, stats, and weapons combinations; in a similar manner to Super Smash Bros.

Although Brawlhalla was originally built for online play, the game also allows for single-player, local co-op and (obviously) online play. Players can take part in a variety of different game modes, including Online Ranked (1v1 and 2v2), 4 Player Online/Local Free for All,  8 Player 4v4, and a whole bunch more. There’s also a training room to practise your fighting techniques and some fun party-like game modes, such as Brawlball and Bombsketball.

Brawlhalla was developed by the indie studio “Blue Mammoth Games” in 2017. The studio announced in March 2018 that they would be joining the Ubisoft family, stating that it would allow them to “have more stability and more resources to improve the game and add new features“. While the Nintendo Switch port isn’t exactly a feature, it’s almost certainly been made possible thanks to Ubisoft’s acquisition.
