Publisher 11 Bit Studios has announced that they’ll be bringing the 80’s inspired pixel-police adventure “Beat Cop” to Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One. Officially titled Beat Cop: Console Edition, the upcoming release is set to hit the streets on March 5th 2019 for $14.99 / €14,99.

The pixel streets of Beat Cop

Paying homage to 80’s cop shows, Beat Cop is a retro-inspired adventure game in which players take on the role of officer Jack Kelly. Framed for murder and stripped of his detective status, Jack soon finds himself assigned to patrolling Brooklyn’s roughest streets.

Beat Cop features a non-linear story in which players can arrive at one of the title’s multiple endings. While you’ll certainly find yourself dishing out parking tickets and possibly even taking the occasional bribe, the game’s overall goal is to uncover the truth behind why Jack was framed for murder. Something that isn’t an easy task for a rundown cop who’s already on the wrong side of the mafia.

The upcoming console ports of Beat Cop will be handled by the team over at Crunching Koalas – who have successfully brought titles like This War of Mine, Butcher, and Lichtspeer to Nintendo Switch in the past.

Beat Cop: Console Edition will launch for Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One on March 5th 2019. The game will be priced at $14.99 / €14,99 and, so far, has only been confirmed for a digital release.
