Following weeks of fan outcry, Nintendo has finally satisfied our wishes by announcing a new Nintendo Direct in the form of an Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct. Scheduled for Thursday, February 20th, you can expect the Nintendo Direct to air at these times:

  • 6 am PT
  • 9 am ET
  • 2 pm GMT
  • 15:00 CEST

The event is said to last roughly 25 minutes, with information concentrating on showcasing Animal Crossing: New Horizon’s and Tom Nook’s Deserted Island Getaway Package.

As with all Nintendo Directs, fans can usually expect a surprise or two that they likely hadn’t seen coming. Perhaps we’ll finally see what Resetti’s up to, or maybe Isabelle will have extended work assisting the island’s caretaker.

Many fans will also be anticipating what ongoing support for the game may be around the corner. Nintendo’s Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Fire Emblem Three Houses all received their respective DLC and free updates. With the size of the Animal Crossing franchise, we can surely anticipate some incoming support for New Horizons.

The wait is finally over

In addition to their recent endeavours, Animal Crossing: New Leaf for the Nintendo 3DS had also received several updates of its own, including adding amiibo support, new furniture, as well as the addition of the RV Park.

Nintendo recently announced that Animal Crossing: New Horizons will have its own form of cloud save functionality. Fans at some point are expecting some sort of update on what this will look like, and how exactly it will work.

With speculation abound, and Nintendo being as tight-lipped as ever, it’s no understatement to say Nintendo has myriad details they may include in this Animal Crossing Direct.

So make sure to be watching Nintendo’s YouTube channel or Twitch at 6 am PT / 9 am ET / 2 pm GMT / 15:00 CEST on Thursday, February 20th, to find out what surprises lay ahead for Nintendo fans.
