It’s been almost nine years since Skyward Sword launched for Nintendo Wii and two since Aonuma teased a re-release. Now, thanks to a new retail listing, it seems as though Link’s Loftwing may finally be getting a second wind.

According to online retail giant Amazon, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword looks as though it may be getting a physical release on the Nintendo Switch. The potential Switch port has been listed on Amazon’s UK website prior to any official announcement from Nintendo.

Despite the generally shaky nature of retail “leaks”, the Skyward Sword listing does provide a little more substance than usual. Not only is the game dispatched and sold by Amazon themselves (which rules out any third-party seller shenanigans) but is also available to pre-order with a price guarantee.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is one of the series’ few remaining modern console games that haven’t seen a HD remaster. Considering Wind Waker’s HD re-release in 2013 and Twilight Princess’ in 2016, it would certainly make sense for Skyward Sword to be next in line. After all, it was one of the Zelda titles to have its models tested in the new HD engine.

Only time will tell if the Skyward Sword listing turns out to be true, but if it is, it certainly wouldn’t be the first time Amazon has let slip an upcoming announcement. For now, we recommend Zelda fans remain cautiously optimistic and keep their eyes peeled for an official announcement from Nintendo.
